A message from Karen, our Editor-in-Chief

Hi there—welcome to our little piece of the Internet!

In 2009, having just completed our graduate studies, my partner and I were struggling with one of life's biggest questions: "What next?"

I was known for being a bit of a 'word nerd' among my classmates and they often asked me for help with their editing and proofreading. I guess they found my work helpful, because I started getting asked to do work for people I didn't even know!

It became too time-consuming to communicate with so many people via email, so my partner, Peter (a regular nerd), whipped up a simple website to make uploading, paying, and returning documents really quick and simple. In a nutshell, that's how MadProofingSkillz.com was born!

Millions of words and hundreds of happy customers later, here we are, going stronger than ever! We have recruited some amazingly talented and dedicated editors to serve clients from all around the world.

Our proofreaders and editors come from a wide variety of academic backgrounds and all have tons of experience teaching, tutoring, and mentoring university and college students. Our senior staff supervise the proofreaders, spot-check their work, and act as resource persons to answer technical questions about grammar or style. All of our staff hold at least a Master's degree, and many have additional professional certifications in copy-editing.
